The Rev. Fr. Eric E. Fialho, Rector of Saint Gabriel’s Parish
Fr. Eric Fialho was born in Salem, MA and lived on the North Shore of Massachusetts for most of his life. During his time attaining a degree in history, Fr. Eric began to consider pursuing ordained ministry. By the end of his undergraduate years, he was accepted at Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts where he studied Divinity for three years. Fr. Eric describes his particular theological leaning and liturgical style as “old school Anglican”. He has a passion for the study of early Anglican divines and theologies, and is strongly via-media in how he approaches many aspects of his ministry. He is a lover of the Episcopal Church and Her history and traditions, while also cognizant of the need for the modern Church to remain relevant and revelatory to all. Fr. Eric is inspired by the old system of cathedrals in England, which met people where they were, and set themselves in the middle of community and daily life. He loves tapping into the fullness of the Church calendar to create fairs, festivals, pageants, and processions to help bring the community to the church and the church to the community. Fr. Eric is an avid lover of ghost stories, especially those by M.R. James. Fr. Eric and his wife Emily own a very smart Jack Russell Terrier named Sprocket, who enjoys stealing socks and hiding them under furniture. Eric and Emily have a mutual love of history, and enjoy an active lifestyle, and often hike and kayak. They have two daughters named Catarina and Abilgail.
The Rev. Kristine Holmes, Deacon of Saint Gabriel’s Parish
Deacon Kris grew up in Wisconsin and attending a parochial catholic school for eight years and public school from junior high through high school. I attended the University of Wisconsin Whitewater and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education. I worked with battered women and children in Wisconsin which somewhat prepared me for my future work with mentally challenge adults. I moved to Massachusetts 1986 and started my career with mentally challenge adults. I worked in the private sector for six years and then secured my position of Service Coordinator with the Department of Development Services Plymouth Office from October 1992 through my retirement December 2022. My spiritual life I contribute to my grandfather who I remembered saying “You need to have at least one hour a week with God.” I was brought up Catholic and around year 2010 living here is Massachusetts one of my coworkers said, “Kris come to our church we love everyone!” I attended a service at Christ Church in Plymouth. I walked in and felt like home. Everyone was so friendly, and I started my journey to learn more about the Episcopal Church. I volunteered and participated on the Altar Guild, Eucharistic Visitor, Reader and Choir. Christ Church Plymouth is my sponsoring church and have been a strong support for me. I was ordained June 4, 2016. I was assigned at Trinity Episcopal Church Bridgewater March 2016 in which they attended my ordination. I have had the opportunity to work with them as their Deacon for 8 years. I am looking forward to continuing with my spiritual journey with you at St. Gabriel’s. St. Gabriel’s offer a variety of services throughout the week. I especially enjoy participating in Outreach Committee, Rooted Service, Pastoral Care, and interacting with the youth and adults of our parish.
Blessings Deacon Kris.
