Saint Gabriel's Episcopal Church

World Missions & Outreach

Thanks to the generosity of St. Gabriel’s parish, the Mission and Outreach Committee was able to disburse over $8,000 in support for local, regional and international outreach organizations.  The committee is pleased to report that we continued to meet monthly during 2023.  The group worked diligently to identify and address areas of urgent concern in our community and in the world over the course of the year.

In 2023, supported organizations included Mobile Ministries of New Bedford, Damien’s Pantry of Wareham, the New Bedford Women’s Center, Turning Point in Wareham, Tri-town Against Racism, Youth Opportunities Unlimited of New Bedford, the Maui Strong Fund, Doctors without Borders – Libya flood disaster, Morocco earthquake, and Gaza medical response, Community Boating in New Bedford, Gifts to Give in Acushnet, The Bridge Center for Hope and Healing in Dartmouth, the Wampanoag Language Reclamation Project, School Nurse supplemental food & school supply cards for needy families in local schools, Marion Food Pantry, and the Interchurch Council of New Bedford.

In addition to its annual budget, extra fundraising collections went to the Wampanoag Language Reclamation Project and the 2024 Youth Mission trip to New Mexico.

The St. Gabriel’s Mission and Outreach Committee meets monthly on the fourth Friday of the month at 9:30 am.  We are always looking for new members, and we invite you to join us in reaching out to those who need our partnership and support in our communities and beyond.
